They will do a complete makeover until the owner can sell or rent appartments, this was one old hotel which was not worth a Park Hyatt designation.Stayed there two weeks before they shut it down and the hotel was on average with the only 4* Hyatt in Europe the Regency Brussels Barsey ( that is the lowest rated Hyatt in Europe...)
IMO, a smart decision, I was told it is obviously more lucrative to sell or rent appartments in that area of NYC and Hyatt would have been forced to spend a nasty amount to renovate the property completely anyway...
