I mostly travel with wife and daughter during school holidays; I'm very much a leisure traveller. This year I took a few trips on my own as well.

We started the year in Norway, after a few days in Bergen we took the Bergensbanen to celebrate New Years Eve in Oslo. For the spring holiday we went to Hong Kong and did all the touristy sights. Then I went on my own to Malaga, via Helsinki. The A350 that Finnair uses on the AMS-HEL route were definitely my best flights of the year in terms of comfort and engagement with the cabin crew. Later in April, my wife did her yearly UK walking holiday, while I took my daughter on a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway. In June my brother joined me for a few days in Madeira, via Newcastle - eight flights booked before the BAEC changes that gained him silver status in one go. In July a fun family holiday to Tenerife with my Mum and my daughter brought her friend along. Then in September I met up with other frequent flyers in Stuttgart, and returned via Warsaw. In the Autumn holiday we went to Dubrovnik for the whole King's Landing experience. I have friends who live in Zagreb that I hadn't seen for years and we met up halfway in Split for a lovely dinner and drinks. The last trip of the year will not be by plane, we're on tonight's ferry from IJmuiden to Newcastle for a family Christmas. My brother, my son and their partners will be flying in, so expect to see something of an airport, if only the car park.
