I have an upcoming JL flight HND to Europe booked with BA Avios, and I need to position to Tokyo from the US…
There is no simple direct flight available to HND/NRT on the day I need with miles but lo and behold if I add a domestic city suddenly the very flight to HND I need magically appears. (Using AA miles)
of course I’m taking the precaution of choosing connection next morning so that I can retrieve luggage in Tokyo etc
my question: does JL system at HND somehow flag that I still have a domestic connection the next morning and simultaneously have a departure to Europe? Or can I go under the radar quite safely? Any difference to choose the domestic flight to leave before or after my Europe flight?
