Context: I had a late arrival (22:00) into GMP and had an afternoon flight to ICN, so I wanted to find somewhere close to GMP to sleep and a way to get to ICN easily the next day.

Location: The hotel is very conveniently located for airport transfers. It’s at Magong-naru station, which is both on line 9 (three stations away) and on the AREX line (one station away), both of which would cost you < 2000 KRW from GMP. There’s no direct / underground connection from the metro station, but it’s a short walk across the street or through a concourse.

You could also take a taxi from GMP for around 7000 - 8000 KRW.

I took the AREX all-stop train to Incheon, which took me around 40 minutes. It was super convenient.

Across the street from the hotel, there are a lot of small shops, restaurants, and cafes. It’s also right above the botanical garden.

I don’t know if I would stay here if I was visiting Seoul. It’s not really located close to any of the major attractions.

Check in was smooth. As titanium, I got to choose between points, a drink or snacks (I think?), or a local gift. I went for the local gift, which was a hotel-branded tote bag.

There is no more lounge, but instead, I got a stamp on my key card for a cup of coffee. I thought it would be a barista-made coffee drink, but when I went to redeem it the next day, the stamp just allowed me access to the coffee machines in the restaurant area. Technically it’s just for one cup of coffee, but I got a double espresso and a latte and they didn’t seem to have stopped me.

I got upgraded to a room with a view of the botanical garden.

Room: The room was quite large and clean for Korean Courtyard standards! It felt very new and I really liked the marble tiles. The bathroom had a bidet, but mine didn’t seem to work because the bidet arm would not extend. There were no amenities in the room; you’d have to purchase them by scanning a QR code and it would be brought up by a robot. There was no bathtub, but a bench to sit in the shower. The room had a water purifier (no hot water) and an espresso machine, as well as an air purifier. There was a small couch and a working desk. The welcome amenity was two packs of nuts on my bed. I slept quite well.

Dining: Breakfast from weekdays is 06:00 - 09:40 and 10:00 for weekends. I didn’t wake up enough for breakfast, so I went across the street and had some noodles. There's also a restaurant and a cafe in the hotel building.

Service: There was nothing of note regarding the service. The people I interacted were friendly and exactly what I expected from a Courtyard.

Overall: I would definitely come back to this hotel if I had a layover from GMP or needed a place to stay whilst transiting between the airports.
