So a wee bit of issues with my flights on Thursday. My schedule was SAN-DEN-BIL-DEN-SAN for the day to see my godmother for a few hours and it will also result in additional 20 PlusPoints after my flight tomorrow. 1K this year was a breeze to make and made it back in October and do not fly OPM but an a value buyer of any service provider.
BIL-SAN was delayed due to mechanical issues and swapping an aircraft at DEN and needing to dump fuel - per the FA. Service was great on this SkyWest flight and why there is only on FA for a full flight was beyond my comprehension but the FA got everyone a snack and a drink. Sent a note to 1K voice about the great service from this FA (albeit SkyWest).
Sounds like you were either on a CRJ200 or CRJ550, both have only 50 passengers so only one FA is required.
Also, CRJ can't dump fuel, unless it's overweight and fuel needs to be pumped out, but that's independent of the new assigned aircraft.

Quite a hike with a tram needed to travel between the terminals. Made it. I did send a note to United suggesting that in future a car to take nearly missed connections from the B terminal to the A terminal at DEN may be something to consider. I mean they do have them.
Maybe the cars were in service for GS. And there are not enough cars around for every close connection.
