Has anyone tried this in Japan? Looking to use the credit in Osaka/Tokyo. The card is in my dad's name (so John Smith) but only my wife and I will be traveling (so Nick Smith and Jane Doe).

I am planning to book the room with my dad's card (to trigger the $300 FHR credit). However for check in I'm wondering if I should use his card again (same last name but obviously different first name) or could I use any of my personal Amex cards (like Amex Green). I do not have a personal Amex Platinum card.

Or would it be better advised to get a Companion Card (free) to at least have some Platinum card in my name?
