Just out of curiosity, when was your flight? I’m asking because they announced that meals would no longer be served on trays. On my last flight at the end of November, they were not using trays. Have they already changed that policy?
My flight was just earlier this week. The main meal was served on a tray as you point out correctly, though they put each dish one by one onto the tray which sat on the place mat / big napkin underneath it which I found weird as well now that you rejig my memory. Also the soup was lukewarm (forgot to take a picture) which was a shame as otherwise it tasted decent. I skipped the palace cake dessert.
Overall, not that I'm unfamiliar with LX long haul Biz, but my last flight was before COVID and I have only been on SQ and BR primarily where food is plated and served at the table and not put on a tray in long haul Biz and slippers are ubiquitous even on TG.
I get environmental stuff and that, but having to put shoes on instead of just some slippers when heading to the bathroom did bug me a bit.
