Absolutely asinine decision by MH management (and OW, for that matter) to follow this 6am rule… there are many tickets MH sells where transit overnight is
required, as in SirToby’s case.
It can be considered understandable where passengers originate in KL (and decide when to head to the airport), perhaps, but not otherwise. What does MH expect their transiting customers to do for the hours before midnight?
Way to annoy your high-value (J or even BSuites) clientele…
They should really make an exception for passengers in transit (explicitly with a single ticket, at the very least).
