Just to add to this, I had an experience around labor day where I leveraged this benefit. Be sure to keep your expectations in check. They'll have a car for you, but it might not be a AWD / 7 seater / minivan that you're looking for. It might be all sedans left when you show up. The EHI employees this time of year are doing their best and trying to make everything work. Case in point - when I showed up for Labor Day weekend, they had a Chevy Malibu set aside for me. While this is one of my least favorite rental vehicles, it was new (less than 5k miles) and got the job done.
