So we just got back from an incredible stay at the the Park Hyatt Los Cabos. Below follows a trip report of sorts to hopefully inform those of you who will be staying at this property in the future. Please feel free to ask away with additional questions!

A Few Initial Notes:
  • I'm a Hyatt Globalist who typically stays >100 nights per year in Hyatts all over the world, mainly on business travel. I've worked many years in hospitality so know what I like, what I don't like, and when I'm not getting what I'm paying for.
  • This was a 3 night stay with my 11-yr daughter, booked on points with an SUA applied. We ended up with a plunge pool suite in building 7 (partial ocean view)

Current Status of the Hotel:
  • The hotel is very under-booked as of last week (we were guests 11 and 12 on our arrival date) but I expect that to change in the coming weeks as we get into Christmas and New Years travel season. There is still active construction on property on the 3 buildings at the rear of the property. They looked mostly finished and I would expect they will take possession of those buildings in 1H 2026.
  • The fitness center is open (pic below) but the spa is not. The fitness center is in the same building as the spa so I assume the delay for the spa is primarily finishing things up. Typical international Hyatt machines - very nice but no Peloton.
  • Overall the noise from construction on property is very minimal. The major issue is the construction next door at the Soho house. It's not terrible but certainly noticeable (the construction at the Manchester Grand Hyatt last month was much worse). It is right next to the main and adult pools though so we elected to spend our time at the Costa Mar pool area which is on the opposite side of the resort and very nice.
  • All landscaping appears to be completed and I expect it will be stunning once it grows in. Right now the small size of the plants does result in somewhat of a lack of privacy for the ground floor rooms.
  • The beach is not swimmable (it's in front of Costa Mar and very beautiful). The pools are beautiful. The main pool was quite warm while the one at Costa Mar was cooler but certainly not cold. We didn't check out the adult pool but I would expect it to be similar to the main pool given its close proximity.
  • Kids club is open. We didn't use but it looked to be a similar indoor space as other Hyatts.
  • Free bottled water is provided throughout the property and in rooms. I didn't see any water bottle refill stations and we stuck to bottled water rather than tap just to be on the safe side.

Service:
  • Overall I found the service to be excellent, especially with the hotel only being open for just over a week on our visit.
  • I don't travel to Mexico often, however have heard that service is much better than equivalent resorts in the Caribbean and I would agree with this assessment based on this small sample size - Caribbean service is much more laid back while the service at the PH Los Cabos was excellent all around. I suspect this may fall off a bit once they get busier, but early indications are very good.
  • We were assigned a concierge upon arrival that we could text/WhatsApp for anything we needed. I'm not sure whether this is a Globalist benefit or not, but was much appreciated. They checked in with us throughout the day (in person and through the app) and overall were excellent (Odette and Michelle).

Food
  • Overall we found the food to be excellent. Currently, Mesa Madre is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner while Costa Mar is open for lunch only. You can also order food poolside throughout the day with a similar menu as Costa Mar. Datil has coffee and quick breakfast food and is open in the morning as well if you don't want a sit down breakfast.
    • The Globalist breakfast was served at Mesa Madre and similar to what I've experienced at other Park Hyatts - we essentially ordered whatever we wanted and were only responsible for the additional tip we added to the bill (I couldn't help myself and wanted to make sure employees were being compensated given the soft opening).
  • I have no idea where the "Silan" restaurant is that's listed on their website. It may just be the bar attached to Mesa Madre and not a separate menu or the bar off the lobby. It wasn't clear and no one mentioned it that I can remember.
  • Food is pricey as you'll see in the menu pics, but I didn't find it to be outrageous like I found it at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar. Guacamole and chips are expensive, however we weren't charged $15 for extra chips as we were at Baha Mar!
  • Make sure to ask for the kids drink and food menus if you aren't given one. There are a ton of choices and the food is very reasonable. My daughter is 11 and loved all the options. In fact, I don't think I've seen a better kids menu anywhere ever.

Final Thoughts:
  • Even just being open for a week or so, this still feels like a Park Hyatt - it is a stunning hotel and the service/food back it up. It is a very similar layout and concept as the Park Hyatt St. Kitts and I would not be surprised if the same design team worked on it.
    • Prices are certainly high, but this is a Park Hyatt so that's expected. I constantly felt like I was paying an absurd amount of $ for things at Baha Mar but it didn't feel the same way here (similar to St. Kitts). Overall, I found prices to be similar to Baha Mar, but value was much higher so I didn't mind it as much.
  • I was repeatedly impressed with just how well things worked - from the service to the rooms, especially after hearing horror stories of Baha Mar and other newly opened Hyatt Hotels. There were some hiccups - Google Maps still hasn't updated the streets and location of the hotel, confusing Uber drivers to no end, but it was a manageable issue.
  • Adam is the GM as I think others had postulated. He came by to chat with my daughter and I several times and is absolutely incredible.

A few pictures are below of the property. I do have more of course if there are specific areas of the hotel that I may have missed. In short, we cannot wait to go back although this trip will forever hold a special place in our hearts - we felt like we were given a preview of an incredible resort before the rest of the world gets to see it.
