LHR has been pretty much spot on recently. But had a bus gate (A10d) to a slightly delayed 742 to GVA on Wednesday. Got to gate pretty early and took up a seat next to the podium. Eventually people started queuing up at the head of the tensa barriers. Eventually agent walks over there asking for any group 0s. I tried quietly to get her attention but it wasn’t working and eventually announced myself loud enough to get her (and everyone else’s) attention and was escorted into the pen with kids and PRMs. We stewed there for a while waiting for coaches. I wasn’t too bothered about boarding position as I was in empty last row of Club in an exit row so plenty overhead space for backpack and carryall of mince pies.

Anyway, agent comes to me and suggests I get toward the front which was kinda awkward with all the family groups. Then when we are about to start getting on the coaches, yet another agent pushes me to the front and has a minor skirmish with the wheelchair pusher while insisting I get on first!

We had the newfangled coaches (not sure if that’s always the case now…?) so I wasn’t able to get into prime position at the front just behind the driver. And doors opened on the right so I went from P1 to P50, in a replay of most of my racing career. Was fine in the end and had an entire bin to myself.
