Some tidbits I've picked up:

The MO seems to have changed their kids policy for the MO Club, which no longer provides access to children below the age of 12. Sadly that means I'm unable to stay there again for half a decade, my tweens have grown past what the kids club offers. I'll hope the MO will use this time for some remodeling.

Haven't had the time to try the Park Hyatt yet but a colleague that just stayed there reports that the surrounding area needs at least 6 months before it stops looking like a construction yard. The hotel itself isn't great for kids either.

The Kimpton is slated for a Christmas Eve opening. By my estimate from passing by the hotel on unrelated business in the beginning of the month that seems like a very optimistic launch date.
