Can anyone share their recent experience of Bangladesh's Visa On Arrival (VOA) process and documentation required? I entering for a few days for tourism on a Malaysian passport and will have my tickets and hotel booking printed and am aware of the USD51 fee.

However, there are various points of doubt:

1) In theory a Visa On Arrival should be available at Dhaka airport but there is suggestion that a letter of invitation is required.

2) The Immigration Department offers an On Arrival Visa process on its website in addition to the regular visa. https://visa.gov.bd/Home.aspx

3) There are discussions online that one should process the Visa On Arrival in advance through the Special Branch of the Police website which offers an Online Visa on Arrival service, https://specialbranch.gov.bd/
