I have found that sometimes when you change a ticket it ends up getting messy. If you have a refundable ticket, your better off cancelling and rebooking.

Same goes for mileage tickets. I have found that if I make a change and then cancel it, it almost always needs a manual refund. Just not worth the effort - easier to cancel and rebook
