Stayed here 5 nights in November 2025.
Originally, I wanted to stay at the Hyatt Caption (especially for the Brand Explorer badge), but after traveling from Japan, where our hotel room was about the same size as the Caption room, we opted to get a bigger room at the Centric at the last minute. Just couldn't deal with playing tetris with our luggage. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I also didn't feel like it was worth switching hotels for the Brand Explorer badge, but it would be very easy to do, as both hotels are literally connected.

I was also debating whether to stay in Xintiandi but I think the location of the Centric was good for our needs. We flew out of Hongqiao International Airport to Hong Kong, and used the adjacent Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to start our day trip to Suzhou and another trip to Tongli (highly recommend this little town over Suzhou!). There are malls within walking distance, and the commute to Hongqiao Airport/Railway Station is short, easy, and less crowded than going toward Pudong.


Overall, we enjoyed the stay at Hyatt Centric. Service was warm, attentive, and professional. Loved that there was multiple seats options in the room. We were in a hotel in Beijing that was larger, and they only had one chair! Would definitely stay here again.
