I’ve run into this a few times with my past reservations. Multi-city bookings seem especially likely to have this issue—things like selecting seats, changing dates, or even canceling just don’t work online. In those cases, the reservation basically can’t be modified through the website. I’ve also noticed this can happen when one or more segments are on a codeshare flight, particularly if a seat was selected through the partner airline’s site.
