All this nonsense they pull in US "hospitality" industry these days (across chains) and the gratuity expectations for barely doing one's job at an acceptable level has totally turned us off any stateside trips for the foreseeable future.

Too many places outside the US that do a better job then putting up with that stuff. I shall miss the great BBQ culture though . YMMV
