EC261 should not differ from country to country.
If you departed later than planned and arrived earlier than planned, then no compensation is due, sorry. AY is also not liable for your hotel costs at HKG. However, what you could do is try and get them to reimburse that first and extra hotel night at KUL which you would not have needed as per the original schedule.
