If anyone is interested, I had cancelled the original Alaska card I made the booking with before the flight, but I did add a new Atmos Summit to my account (but I don't think that associated with my reservation), I still had the option of free checked bag for everyone on my reservation. I can't remember anymore, but similar situation on my wife's reservation (booked separately), her card also cancelled without a new Alaska card on her account, I'm pretty sure it offered her a free checked bag as well.
