2153 this morning (12Dec) BOS-NYP, NextGen. My F single seat would not "recline." Push button, try to slide forward, nothing. Fortunately the F car wasn't too busy and I was able to get a double to myself. Also mid-trip, the F lav backed up and wouldn't flush, so had to be put out-of-service. The F attendants were fine; saying to me, "These things won't last five years!.... just too complicated with electronics that can't be nudged, kicked, and jury-rigged like the mechanical systems on the FirstGens."
