I'm from a nerd background and I would never consider dragon to be an insult. They are generally the wisest, most powerful beings in any mythology. I have had 99.9% positive interactions with every one, and I can assure you I bear to ill will towards the agent who went above and beyond to figure out if should actually still have access, especially given the issue would be IT-related. (And as a software guy, I understand this is a corner case.) Lounge dragon clearly identifies an agent working the entry to the lounge as opposed to one working the customer service desk with a bit of mythological flair.
Also, I think the technical term for all non-AA lounge entry staff is dragon. (AA has angels.)
