Good to see a somewhat related data point. I'm in a related situation- my Citi account is housed under Citi Private Bank (I have no assets with Citi, it is merely due to a relationship the law firm I worked for back when I was a junior associate had with Citi when the account was opened years ago). When I applied for the Prestige back in 2013, I was eligible for a fee waiver and it has been on the account since. So I'm definitely waiting to see if my account gets converted to the Strata Elite next year, and if so, if that means the end of the fee waiver.
Another data point for what it's worth ... Like DW, I've been a Citi Private Bank client since I was a junior associate at a big law firm nearly 20 years ago, but have generally kept my assets at another institution. I assumed I would be eligible for the first year fee credit of $595, and opted into the Strata Elite on that basis. But when I didn't see a credit apply, I called and was told I am not eligible because Citi Private Bank is a different relationship tier than Citi Private Client. I had apparently incorrectly assumed that a client of the Citi Private Bank would be a Citi Private Client, but apparently these are two completely different things. Live and Learn I guess.
