There are two limits the op might face: 1) us bound flights still sometimes have at gate random checks of hand luggage. It doesn’t seem to be all flights anyone but I’ve still seen it a few times earlier this year (unless something has changed very recently?) and I don’t know if they allow liquids 2) even with the new ct scanners “some” liquids do get rejected by the machines certainly at lhr. I’ve had it more than occasionally - with a hot sauce, some vinegar, some perfume (I know I know, the contents of my luggage is varied!!) At times follow up tests lead to late acceptance other times it’s just straight to the bin. So to cut a long story short, I’d take the risk with a fun bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau but certainly not with a 1982 Mouton Rothschild or a Pétrus.
