AS failed their first attempt to secure regulator approval for their flight to LHR. AS can't do winter service currently, as AS will now be leasing landing slots from American Airlines. This lease is only good May 21, 2026 until October 24, 2026. It's been reported that AS is using AA's slot which currently is used by one of the flight from MIA. If and when AA decides to use the slot for one of its own flights, AS will again be without a flight to London Heathrow. The other OneWorld partner, British Airways might provide another opportunity, but BA flights are reportedly frequently 90% full. Good Luck Alaska..... Maybe Gatwick (LGW) might be the more realistic "year-long" London chance for AS.....
