I'm getting this issue as well trying to book NH at calendar open. It lets me go up all the way to passenger info entry but then afterwards when loading the seats it kicks me out and even logs me out too.. anyone have this same issue?
update: I tried a couple times and by some miracle there was still availability, then on the third time it finally went through. I think it's an IT issue as I was able to book it in the end
It is more likely that multiple people are attempting to grab the space at the same time and the system can't really handle it. That you were able to confirm the space on the third try would be considered fortunate especially if it is one of the very high demand routes.
