post-covid, all US airlines have more brittle networks. Loads are higher, frequencies are down. That means recovery is going to be harder. even though this causes huge disruptions when there are irregular operations, the increased efficiency in regular ops means that overall this is a more profitable situation so I don't expect it to get much better.
