We can agree to disagree on the reasons, but IMHO it is unacceptable for any airline to have 1/2 day of bad weather in 1 hub (of many) and it still have major effects on the operation 36+ hours later. Contracts have nothing to do with the initial reason for an IRROP (in this case, weather), but they have everything to do with how the airline recovers from the IRROP. DL is actively dealing with various pilot contractual issues (including a recent MOU with some changes) that are causing slowdowns in scheduling pilots for flights when there are IRROPs. Not sure why you are coming to ATL's defense here as I said nothing against it. On the contrary, I completely agree on the efficiency of ATL - it is my favorite domestic connecting hub for any airline.
