Similar to my experience ROKNA, definitely a useful unpublished benefit. I've never been put in a middle with the 9pm trick, but have occasionally been stuck in a window past row 10 on status heavy LHR route.

It also doesn't help with the journey back, as other than DUB and LHR, they don't seem to preassign seats to elites.
