Except that is not what anyone is talking about here, nor is that what "O/D pricing" means (YOW-LHR, YOW-YYZ-LHR, YOW-YUL-LHR are all the same O/D, and subject to the same fares).
You book a 1600 YYZ-YOW because you expect your meeting to finish by 1400, but you know you can SDC to the 1500 or 1700 if it finishes early or runs late.
It's the exact same model for YOW-FRA, except there are no non-stops, and the flight that suits now suits you best might be via YYZ instead of YUL.
