Booked 2-single premium (highest non-suite category), received the same (front desk claimed we were upgraded to a recently remodeled room).

How are the rooms?
We stayed here a few times before so knew what to expect. Comparing to the room (also 2-single premium) from our last stay in 2023, the room was mostly the same except for a new bidet and a new showerhead.
Our room had some foul smell in the bathroom that went away after a while. I suspected it might be because no one stayed in the room for quite some time.

How is the exec. lounge?

What was good and what was bad?
The good:
- Great location. We always stay at HI Sendai when in the area as it's quite close to Sendai station, and a few of our favorite restaurants and shops are within minutes of walk.
- Well-maintained room.
- Insane rate for reward nights.

The bad:
- Foul smell in the bathroom; no air purifier in the room and weird pillows (normal pillows and air purifier are both available upon request but didn't bother as we only stayed for one night).

The ugly:
- Not a non-smoking hotel.
- Wi-Fi is not encrypted.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Booked with points - the rate is so cheap that someone can camp out here and get Diamond for less than 300K. Great value as always; will return.
