There seems to be pretty big differences for invite qualifications and selectivity for US vs rest of world (as well as fees) but US clearly has the best benefits. If you are all about the card and don't care about the benefits, probably better to setup residence in Europe and just build a history with Amex there. Might be cheaper!

A big part of the appeal is that it’s aspirational. I love my JPM Reserve. The hidden tradeline is a huge plus for me. What doesn’t help is how cold the Centurion side feels whenever I interact with them. The responses are very scripted, no real warmth or engagement, just “we’ve noted your interest” and back into the void.
