Both Capella and MO are literally across the road from each other and just a few minutes from TSA airport, which also caters to private jet arrivals. They’re the only two hotels in Taiwan on Virtuoso as well. I was there last week and both properties were busy, with a mix of local and international guests.

Xinyi feels like many other international cities, so if that’s your vibe, it’s a good fit. That said, a lot of people visit Taipei and prefer staying in neighbourhood areas instead, where you get more local character and a stronger sense of place.

I started looking at Kimpton Da An (someone mentioned Da An is more residential) and HannsHouse or Proverb House. I am not sure if these are considered luxury properties, but we wanted something more neighborhood-like and stores and shopping, but not isolated like (MO and I think Capella).
NYE is extremely busy and crowded, so this will be the case regardless of which location or hotel you choose. It’s best to be prepared for that.
