Next year, your path to MileagePlus® Premier® status stays the same, with familiar qualification thresholds and starter PQP deposits, plus more enhancements ahead.



Premier qualification thresholds




The amount of Premier qualifying points (PQP) and Premier qualifying flights (PQF) you need to achieve each tier of Premier status in 2026 will not be changing from the thresholds set for 2025.



Enjoy a starter PQP deposit




All members who achieved Premier status in 2025 will once again receive a PQP deposit in early 2026 to get a head start on their status goals for the new year. The deposit amount will remain the same as in 2025.



More ways to earn PlusPoints




Beginning January 1, 2026, Premier 1K® and above members will be able to earn even more PlusPoints. This is because PQP earned through eligible United® credit card spending will now count toward earning additional PlusPoints. There is no limit to the amount of PlusPoints you can earn.



Even more opportunities to upgrade




Beginning February 1, both PlusPoints and Complimentary Premier Upgrades (CPUs) will be eligible toward upgrades on award tickets for all Premier members.



Dynamic approach to PlusPoints upgrades




Beginning in February 2027, we’ll retire the fixed chart for PlusPoints upgrade amounts and transition to a dynamic system. This change will allow the number of PlusPoints required for an upgrade to better reflect factors like demand, cabin, and more, providing members with greater flexibility.
