I find it far more arrogant for a FA to deny moving passengers to better seats out of laziness or control issues.

ExAAmple: rear row of 3 row W, seat has non-op IFE. FA refuses to move a non-rev to open front row W seat, citing weight issues.
I quietly pointed out we were with 20 feet of CG on a 250 ton aircraft - she got all FAA reg-ey on us.
Same AAttendant who threatened* Mrs. Bear and I with deboarding when politely asked about status upgrades to an almost empty J cabin.

* "I can deboard you and you can ask the gate agent for an upgrade." We got a few miles for that.
