I remember being on this...plane.... DEN-DRO, and we always selected the emergency exit row which is not any larger than the others.
We referred to this as the Devil's Chariot back in the PMCO days.

Row three is exactly the same as every other row except bulkhead and exit row. I too was downgraded in PMUA (as I started my switch from CO to UA) days, except it was from exit row on CR7 to the Devil's Chariot

I too kept the same seat assignment, which put me into ....... oh wait, guess there is ONE row that is not the same as all the others, as the last row does not recline

The exit row does have extra legroom, but it's only one or two inches - IIRC it's two inches, but still cramped. Very cramped.
