The situation is a bit different - in this case, the bad deal is for you to provide unlimited work for eternity. How would you feel about that?
Also, the company AND union had a proposed contract, and the FAs voted it down, so the negotiation continues. It's incorrect to characterize as a person who did not give the FA a contract.
UA made a deal for compensation. It was a lifetime deal. It's their fault for making a bad deal. It would've been a great deal for UA if Tom had died after a year or so. I keep to my deals, even handshake agreements.
