I stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe for 2 nights two weeks ago using the Chase Travel portal and the Chase Edit credit. I did get 2 elite nights credited. The full cost on the portal (according to my confirmation email) was $567.87. I used 15,893 Chase UR at 2x, so that $250.01 was charged to my CSR. After my stay, 6,307 points were posted to my account for the stay, consisting of 3,942 base points and 2,365 elite bonus points for being Platinum Elite (60%). I also received 600 points for a 'Welcome Bonus'. Honestly, not sure how the $394.20 qualified spend was calculated.

If I remember correctly, I did have to go into the IHG app and add my stay after booking through Chase Travel. The confirmation email from Chase Travel has a "hotel confirmation" number that I used to add the trip in before the stay.
