Now, I need to burn off my remaining 13k points in the next week before I cancel. I tried to book a tour for an upcoming trip via points, but the purchase was declined. I received a message to contact the CC issuer, despite not even entering my CC info and paying 100% in points. Needless to say, this experience is not motivating me to change my mind.
Just book an airline ticket for $195. When you get a text to redeem, cancel the ticket.
