I approached the UAX(Air Wisconsin) GA and asked, "is there a seat on this flight for me to stand by? If not, I will just go back to my original flight's gate area." The UAX agent, "I will call you when it's time for me to call you." Me: "Do I have a good chance to get on this flight?" GA: with much more attitude, "I will call you when it's time for me to call you." Me: "Excuse me, you didn't answer my question." GA: *rolling her eyes* "I will call you when it's time for me to call you." By then I just had it and walked away by saying "whatever." As soon as I turned she replied back, "whatever yourself."
Sounds like the same GA that I had (and also complained) about in January. I listed standby on a delayed IAD-LGA flight and asked 4 times whether there were seats available. This woman acted like I was crazy for asking such a question. Even at 5 minutes before flight time (isn't the passenger list closed 20 minutes before boarding time) she wouldn't give me a straight answer. I finally gave up and trundled over to G to catch my original flight.
AWAC is the absolute bottom of the barrel. I wish UA would rethink their alliance with them (they must be the cheapest in the biz since UA dumped ACA when they refused to negotiate price).
