Basically, if you don’t want to risk not liking any of the in-flight menu choices, then you can pre-order. And if there is an item reported on the in-flight menu but you don’t want to miss due menu rotation, then pre-order it. I did that latter with red curry lamb chops.
Thank you, I was essentially wondering if the pre-order menu has a larger selection than the in-flight menu.

I am flying BKK-KUL, and hopefully the pre-order selection won't be too limited for short haul flights.
