DL regularly schedules the A359 between ATL and LAX. If you position yourself, you can fly it without leaving your country. Otherwise fly LH to MUC, given it's off season, the prices should be pretty low and LH generally does not swap appareils as much, given MUC is their main A359 base.
But assuming we are talking about business class here, wouldn't LH to MUC mean trading one of the very best J products to Europe (AF) for one of the absolute worst (LH)?
