Revisiting my issue with GliNet boxes - the devices are down or disconnected more often than up now, and rebooting both the California server and Toronto client boxes doesn't leave them up for long. I tried the site-to-site VPN option, but there was no way to force the Roku stick to use the California DNS, so it used the Toronto/Rogers DNS and blacked out the content.

So I'm wondering if the boxes are failing, and the best course of action. Ideally I would like to create a site-to-site VPN and stop using the VPN clients loaded on the box, but I can't shake the Roku stick loose from grabbing a Toronto DNS. I could do a reset on both boxes, but that needs to be timed so I reset the California box just before going to Toronto, then reset that box when I arrive - but that may or may not fix the problem, then I'm back to square one.

Any suggestions on a fast, reliable, effective and very small VPN devices other than GliNet, or a different GliNet model that might be more reliable?
