Available selections were the Tillamook cheeseburger, chili shrimp & black rice, smoked chicken ravioli (which I chose via preorder), yellow cauliflower curry, and the tried-and-true Signature Fruit & Cheese Plate. This was not bad, overall I was pleased. The two squash pieces were
absolutely massive in comparison to how they were depicted in the glamor shot on the preorder page. They had a hint of sweetness (maybe it was the sauce? I am not a food expert, I only eat the stuff) but overall worked and I'm not the biggest fan of squash. Same as the squash, the ravioli were also large; in fact, the dish looked like larger portions than the picture showed which is a nice surprise. The chicken filling to the ravioli was nicely done in a finely shredded style. Add salt if you want, I did it on two and didn't on two others and I liked it both ways. Shallot was cooked just soft enough to be easy to cut. I could have done with a bit more sauce because the edges of some of the ravioli that didn't get "enrobed" were less
al dente and more
chew-on-this-for-a-bit but, as with every meal, I look at it from "how is this at 35,000 feet" and I'm just being picky here.
The side of warmed mixed nuts was served in advance but I resisted scarfing it down to stage it with the photo because I like including it. The bread side with dip (hummus or tahini, again I am bad at food) was good though if the bread pieces had been any larger their chewiness would have been too much. The rice pudding, however,
no thank you very much. Way too sweet and thank goodness for the cranberry & lime seltzer to plunger down the tentative bites I took.
This doesn't quite rise to the level of "I would buy this meal on the ground" like the breakfast served on the outbound did, but if this ravioli and bread side were on the buffet in the lounge I would make a beeline for it.
