1 BA avios does not equal 1 AS Atmos point to earn or burn, even if credit cards transfer at the same rate.
Award cash surcharges can vary. Real taxes are the same for every ffp/airline flying the same routes/class.

With BA avios they can be moved at no cost to other airlines that use avios as the ff currency. QR Qatar, IB Iberia, AY Finnair, IE. Threads on the BA forum on how this is done.
From memory IB avios rewards are more restrictive than others . Only return and not able cancel? (need to check)
