The crew layovers their are usually 30+ hrs. By changing the departure time, the crew can do a turn instead of having to stay an extra day because of crew rest issues. I would find it difficult to believe that this would be the reason...to eliminate the layover, but perhaps if the layover is that pricey, maybe so.
