Lounge not as good as before
I previously stayed here 3 years ago and the lounge offerings have really deteriorated. During my 2 night stay the 2 hot items for the first night were some low quality breaded cauliflower cheese bites and bbq pork buns, both like some cheap supermarket frozen food appetizers, another person I talked with said the same thing and also thought the lounge had gone downhill. The second night was also nothing to remember about. In the past when the hot food offering was emptied and would be replaced by a different item, not so anymore. Only the cold items would get replaced with a different item.
The lounge is supposed to have snacks and tea, coffee and soft drinks all day, but when I returned around 4 pm there were not 2 sprites and 2 Coke Zero and nothing else, not even water. There were some other people in the lounge who had called the frown desk a few times but after 45+ minutes nothing was done.
My Diamond welcome gift was a box of chocolates, one of the 2 seals was very noticeably loose and not even fixed properly, when I got to my room I opened it to find only 5 of the 6 chocolates there, took it back to get the box replaced.
Also, there were huge cookie crumbs in the chair in my room, only a blind person would miss these.
Booked a basic room and upgraded to King Spa Room (room rate is higher than exec room).
Breakfast is a mad house, overcrowded and lineups of 10-15 minutes just to enter, no Diamond area.
