One more question, if I do miss my connection for some reason, would TK be willing to change my final destination? I have a connection on a diffrent pnr from what TK would consider my final destination but they do fly there as well so it would be nice to fly there straight from IST and thus eliminate any delay to where i'm actually going.
Arriving from the EU with a BP for an onward flight if the gate is manned with an agent they'll let you go through the departure area (no security check). Otherwise you've to go through transfer security. Short connection transfer point has a threshold value. If you happen to arrive early you'll be rejected.
If your flights are not under the same PNR, other than tagging the luggage to the final destination and issuing the BP for the next flight, don't expect much from them. In case of an overbooking you might have a chance for a destination change.
