They do something still rather novel like caviar in J (novel for the time being), but do it a bit "half-baked" or "haphazard". Seems like TG thinks people typically just shuffle the caviar into their mouths and not put it onto something or that the bread basket assortment will suffice or they just forgot about that part.
When the tray with caviar is served, they do rounds with the breads. They had 3 types of bread to go with it. I had my caviar with sourdough bun.
