No idea where this myth of long transfers being "risky" comes from but it's just a myth. It's short transfers that are the problem, not long ones. Whether bag stays at the airport for three, six, ten or twentyone hours makes no difference.

I do long transfers like this, including overnights, at airports across Europe all the time. I'm yet to have a single problem with bag.
