True, but one only needs to look back two years to see how Delta handled it. They make ~$10B/year off of the Amex deal, so their changes completely benefitted card holders and big spenders (on cards) the most. HOWEVER, they caved to the backlash from elites and MMs and found a better balance that still rewarded BIS elite members. Hilton should take note not to rock the boat too hard.
